Edward Michael Sandridge III
Artist's Biography (Optional): Born on the Great Plains of Kansas in the late 80s Edward Michael (EM) was adopted by a pack of prairie wolves who took him into their number. They taught only to shoot outdoors during sunrise or sunset, and the importance of single source key lighting.
EM took their knowledge and headed West to train diligently in the field of cinematography at the Academy of Art University San Francisco. It was there he learned to wield ancient technology like the Bolex and Arri 435, names fitting for the gods themselves. They were heavy and metallic and used this ribbon like substance to capture images instead of sensors. What a strange and wonderful world.
After learning about light and film EM received his BFA, the most prestigious of all undergraduate art degrees, and immediately bought a digital camera. He roamed the streets of San Francisco using his skills with the lens to help people tell their stories. From real estate agents to centers devoted to helping the homeless, from witches to street artists, from queer activists to bartenders EM shot the stories of San Francisco before heading East to film dance and the arts
